MSNBC's Ronan Farrow Slammed as 'Third Rate...Child Anchor,' The 'Nadir of TV Gravitas'

USA Today media columnist Michael Wolff throws dirt on the sinking fortunes of CNN in Monday's paper, denouncing the cable-news audience along the way: it’s “overly fixated, if not fetishistic.”

Wolff then unloads on MSNBC host Ronan Farrow as the “nadir of television gravitas, the “child anchor...mimicking the adults.” Ouch:

'Constant Poisonous Twerp' Larry King Clashes With 'Irrelevant' 'Hack' Piers Morgan

Just when it seemed that long-time interviewer Larry King and his successor, Piers Morgan, had settled into nice, quiet lives after both left the Cable News Network, along came an interview with radio “shock jock” Howard Stern on Wednesday, when King asserted that CNN should have hired American Idol host Ryan Seacrest instead of making the mistake of putting a “Britisher in prime time.”

Soon after, Morgan snarled back in a series of tweets in which he said he had always tried to be respectful to his predecessor but noted that King has been “a constant poisonous twerp towards me for three years, and I'm bored with it.” He added that there is no such word as "Britisher'” before growling that “research and facts were never your strong point, were they, Brooklyner?”

CNN’s Chris Cuomo Uses Fort Hood Shooting To Push Gun Control Agenda

For the second time in five years, Fort Hood was the site of a shooting by a rogue member of the military. While the shooting, which occurred during the afternoon of Wednesday April 2, had fewer victims than the one five years ago, CNN predictably used the tragedy to push for greater gun control in America.

After Piers Morgan's Twitter tirade on Wednesday night, CNN’s Chris Cuomo wondered despite the shooter having mental health issues, why he was “Still able to walk into a private store and get this semi-automatic handgun that he winds up using, not a military issued weapon, his own. Don't you think that's something that needs to be addressed in terms of who's abled to get these conceal carry permits and weapons?” [See video below.]

NewsBusted's Jodi Miller Fires a Parting Shot at Piers

"Piers Morgan ended his final show on CNN with an angry plea to take away America’s guns. Oddly enough, the last Brits that held these same views were canceled in 1776."

Piers Morgan Uses Swan Song To Call For the Disarmament of U.S. Citizens

Piers Morgan got in one last word in favor of gun control during the final episode of his CNN program on Friday, and called for the complete disarmament of the American citizenry: "As my brother, a British army colonel, says, 'You always want an American next to you in a trench when the going gets tough.' But that's where, I think, guns the hands of highly-trained men and women fighting for democracy and freedom, not in the hands of civilians."

Morgan blasted the NRA by name and politicians for standing in the way of his pet cause: "The gun lobby in America, lead by the NRA, has bullied this nation's politicians into cowardly, supine silence." He cited Winston Churchill for inspiring his stand, and even claimed that his campaign was pro-American: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Bye-Bye Piers! A Top 10 Countdown of the Soon-to-Be Ex-CNN Host's Most Outrageous Outbursts

This week marks the end of Piers Morgan’s show on CNN and his run has been full of effusive praise for liberals and damnation of conservatives. Even before Morgan began his show, back in 2010, he tipped his hand in which ideological direction he wanted to take the show when he revealed who he most wanted to interview: “I’d love to do President Obama. I like what he’s done for the reputation of America abroad, which I’m not sure many Americans fully understand.”

In contrast, Morgan viciously attacked gun rights advocates and Tea Party activists, while giving better treatment to Iranian dictator Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who he once asked how many times he had “been properly in love?” [video countdown after the jump]

Comedian Chelsea Handler Mocks Piers Morgan: ‘You’re a Terrible Interviewer’

Controversial comedian Chelsea Handler stopped by CNN’s Piers Morgan Live last night and had some harsh words for the outgoing CNN host.

Appearing as his guest on Monday March 11, Handler slammed the provocative Morgan’s interviewing skills and claimed that “I have to come here and tolerate this nonsense and then I have to ...You can't even pay attention for 60 seconds. You're a terrible interviewer.” [See video below.]

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Slams CNN as 'Not What It Used to Be'

In an obvious back-handed compliment, Rachel Maddow started her eponymous Tuesday night program on MSNBC by supposedly praising the Cable News Network, which she said “once upon a time” was the “only cable news network, and they really did have a singular role in keeping people informed.”

However, while the network once had a reputation for providing information “about what was going on, not only around the country, but around the world” in the 1990s, she claimed “CNN today is not what it used to be.”

NewsBusted: Piers Morgan Leaves CNN, Jimmy Fallon Flacks for Obamas at Earlier Hour

"Piers Morgan getting canceled is a sign that CNN is changing their programming away from news, and more towards infotainment," NewsBusted's Jodi Miller observed in the the February 25 episode. "So look for CNN’s upcoming talent search/reality program: America's Lowest Rated Anchor," she quipped. [watch the video embed below the page break; to SUBSCRIBE, visit the NewsBusted YouTube channel here]

Other targets seared by Miller include new Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, former president Jimmy Carter, and last but certainly not and probably least, actress Ellen Page, who you might kinda sorta remember but who isn't all that relevant these days.

CNN Cancels 'Piers Morgan Live'

Saying that the British journalist's show had "run its course," CNN president Jeff Zucker told the New York Times earlier today that he was pulling the plug on Piers Morgan's eponymous primetime news program (h/t Politico's Dylan Byers).

The staunchly leftist anti-gun Brit is, of course, a frequent target of our criticism and he's still on our radar whether or not he remains with the network. You can read our archive of Morgan's bias by clicking here. Feel free to share your thoughts on the demise of the former tabloid editor's low-rated program in the comments section.

As Piers Morgan's Ratings Spiral Into Oblivion, 'Variety' Blames His Obsession With Guns

According to an influential entertainment magazine, Piers Morgan's ratings are in a death spiral and the reason might be his obsession with attacking Second Amendment rights of Americans. Variety writer Rick Kissell related the devastating news: "Tuesday’s telecast, which included coverage of the uprisings in Kiev and an interview with Rudy Giuliani, drew the show’s second smallest audience to date in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (50,000)."

He added, "'Piers Morgan Live' has fallen below the 300,000-viewer mark on seven other occasions in February. While the Olympics could be blamed for some of that, ""Piers Morgan' is drawing just a fraction of the audience attracted by competing shows on CNN and MSNBC." The British Morgan has railed about the "absurdity of the 2nd Amendment" and lectured Americans: "I'd make it illegal for anyone under 25 to buy a gun of any kind."

Nancy Grace Slams Piers: 'It's Not Really Right For A Brit To Jump Up...To Us About Gun Control'

Nancy Grace blasted Piers Morgan on the latter's CNN program on Monday for unsurprisingly forwarding gun control in the middle of a panel discussion on the controversial Michael Dunn case: "It's not really right for a Brit to jump up and start talking to us about gun control." Morgan shot back by condescending to the HLN host specifically and to Americans in general: "It seems like it's entirely down to a Brit, because your lot can't sort out your own gun problems."

Grace, who is no stranger to controversy, interrupted the British native before he could finish his pro-gun control rant, and threw the American Revolution and the Constitution at the CNN host: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Liberating 'Girls'? WashPost Gauzily Champions Janet Mock's Trans-Crusade for 'Redefining Realness'

The Washington Post is glorifying the man who calls himself “Janet Mock” on the front of the Friday Style section, but it’s a bit puzzling. They noted the recent kerfuffle over Piers Morgan’s CNN show describing Mock as “a boy until 18" as “a ticking time bomb that later exploded on Twitter.”

But wait, Post reporter Dan Zak first wrote, “She had three goals when she was growing up as Charles Mock in Honolulu.” So she grew up as a girl named Charles, apparently. Zak celebrated this “trans woman.” Dan Zak – the smug snarkster who trashed Paul Ryan as a little boy –  is now sincerely scolding the “wider world” as “always way behind on trans issues,” as if he were the most sensitive, clued-in reporter on the planet:

Ann Coulter Rips Democrats for Sex Scandals: 'Can We Look at Your Cast of Characters Here?'

On Tuesday night, CNN’s Piers Morgan bemoaned Rand Paul’s “sleazy” attack on Bill Clinton’s promiscuity, but guest Ann Coulter roasted Clinton and other Democrats for their own attacks on women.

“This is all very salacious,” Morgan lamented. “And Rand Paul wants us to think about Hillary and Bill as a doublette in a salacious, slightly sleazy way, right?” he added. “Come on, don't attack the woman through her husband,” he said of Hillary and Bill. [See video below.]

Leftist Academic Scolds Piers on Transgender Tussle; Likens It to Romney 'Binders' Remark

Columbia University Professor Marc Lamont Hill chided Piers Morgan on the British host's CNN program on Wednesday for his apparent lack of sensitivity towards transgendered author Janet Mock during a recent interview.  Hill acknowledged that Morgan was an "ally" of LGBT actvists, but claimed that his interview of Mock was akin to Mitt Romney's supposed gaffe about hiring women: "It's like when white people point to the number of black friends they have, or men talk about the binders full of women that they've hired."

When Amy Holmes of and conservative radio host Ben Ferguson challenged the left-wing academic for rebuking Morgan, Hill inadvertently exposed the ideological extremism of post-modern gender theory – especially its tendency to deny biological reality: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Politically Correct Piers Morgan Falls Prey to P.C. Police in Furor Over Transgenderism

Piers Morgan was left aghast on his CNN program on Wednesday over "being viciously abused by the transgender community," in his words, over an interview he conducted with Janet Mock the previous evening. Mock, who claims transgendered status, expressed outrage on Twitter over the way Morgan handled the LGBT issue, which led to the CNN host receiving a "firestorm" of criticism from left-wing activists online.

Morgan brought Mock back on for a second interview, and repeatedly whined that he shouldn't have been "vilified" by the supporters of the author (whose book is titled "Redefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love & So Much More") because he has been an "open supporter" of the LGBT activists' agenda: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Piers Morgan Falls Flat In Gun Debate With Silly Kinder Egg Analogy

CNN's Piers Morgan used a Kinder egg to make an analogy about the absurdity of lax gun laws on Monday, but it backfired when his conservative guest didn't take the bait.

Morgan pointed to "your constitutional right to have guns, but I can't eat this chocolate egg, does that strike you as strange?" However, Oklahoma state senator Nathan Dahm agreed that Kinder eggs should be legal and the federal government would be "intrusive" to ban either Kinder eggs or guns. [Video below the break. Piers Morgan Blasts 'Absurdity of the 2nd Amendment'; 'Make It Illegal For Anyone Under 25 to Buy A Gun'

CNN's Piers Morgan provided his latest overly simplistic, pro-gun control solution to mass shootings in a series of posts on Twitter on Monday. The British TV host's first policy prescription: "Given the young ages of most mass/random shooters in America, I'd make it illegal for anyone under 25 to buy a gun of any kind."

Morgan continued by comparing buying a gun to renting a car: "It's almost impossible to rent a car under the age of 25 in America - why not regulate guns the same way? Just common sense." When someone challenged him on this, the disgraced former Daily Mirror editor attacked the constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms:

Piers Morgan Whines to Ann Coulter: 'Pro-Gun Side' Won't 'Relent' Even After 35 School Shootings

Piers Morgan sparred with Ann Coulter on his Wednesday CNN show over Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein's vow to target the NRA in an upcoming movie and over the lack of new gun control regulations in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting in December 2012. Morgan did his best to defend Weinstein, after Coulter blasted him for his "utter hypocrisy" in only recently condemning the impact of violent movies after making a fortune from them.

The British TV host later bemoaned how "there have been 35 separate school shootings in America since Newtown. Not a single changed any federal gun law in that time. Nobody on the pro-gun side seems prepared to relent about try and reduce the level of gun violence." The conservative author retorted that new firearms regulations wouldn't have done anything to stop them: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Piers Morgan Goads Ann Coulter to Admit She's 'Part of the Problem,' the 'Female Glenn Beck'

CNN's Piers Morgan tried to get Ann Coulter to admit she's a "female Glenn Beck" and "part of the problem" for her "divisive" and "partisan" rhetoric, on Wednesday's Piers Morgan Live.

Glenn Beck recently expressed regret that during his time at Fox News, he "played a role unfortunately in helping tear the country apart." Morgan called Coulter the "female Glenn Beck" for her "partisan rhetoric" and wondered if she regretted that. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Piers Morgan Asks If Iraqis Aren't Any Better Off Than Under Saddam Hussein

According to CNN's Piers Morgan, the U.S. mission in Iraq was a failure and Iraqis could ask if they're any better off now than under dictator Saddam Hussein.

Interviewing former Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Wednesday, Morgan brought up recent instability in Iraq and noted: "I suppose if you're living in Iraq and you're an Iraqi, you're saying are we really any better off now than we were under Saddam Hussein, brutal though he was and despotic though he was." [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Piers Morgan Offers $1.3 Million for Artwork Made of Sean Penn's Guns, Anderson Cooper Outbids

On Saturday, at Sean Penn's Help Haiti Home gala fundraising auction, CNN's Anderson Cooper paid $1.4 million on a work of art from American artist Jeff Koons.

As amazing as it might seem, although the as-yet unmade piece will be created using Penn's collection of old firearms, Cooper's outspoken anti-gun colleague Piers Morgan was actually second in the bidding offering $1.3 million.

Year-End Awards: The ‘Gunning for the Second Amendment Award’

Last week, the Media Research Center announced our “Best Notable Quotables of 2013,” reviewing the worst media bias of the year as selected by the 42 expert judges who reviewed dozens of quotes.

During the first half of 2013, liberals hoped they could leverage the tragedy of last year’s horrible shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, to push through their long-sought wish list of new federal gun restrictions, and the media cheered them on. Here are the quotes our judges designated as the worst of the worst, as catalogued in the MRC’s “Gunning for the Second Amendment Award.” (Winning quotes and video below the jump.)

Charlie Daniels to Piers Morgan: 'You Wouldn't Last Five Minutes' in the Duck Dynasty Swamps

NewsBusters guest contributor Charlie Daniels has had enough of CNN's Piers Morgan attacking Americans he doesn't agree with.

After Morgan said about Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson via Twitter Thursday, "[T]he 1st Amendment shouldn't protect vile bigots," Daniels scolded the arrogant Brit Friday with a series of tweets that began, "Piers Morgan why don't you go back to England and straighten it out before you try to change the United States of America":

Piers Morgan Says Belief That Homosexuality Is Sinful Is 'Bigoted' and 'Fooey'

On his Thursday show, CNN's Piers Morgan confessed that Christians who believe homosexuality is sinful are "bigoted," and argued that parts of the Bible are "utterly ridiculous" and "offensive." The topic at hand was Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson's words about homosexuality.

"I can still understand people say, well, you know, it's my religious belief that homosexuality is a sin. I think it's a load of absolute fooey in the modern age, to be so bigoted, but if that's what people want to do, that's fine," the CNN host admitted. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Piers Morgan Accuses Sarah Palin of Getting Martin Bashir Fired By MSNBC

Is there an anatomical limit to how many times someone can put their foot in their mouth?

Consider the case of CNN's Piers Morgan who on Twitter moments ago actually accused former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin of getting Martin Bashir fired by MSNBC:

Krauthammer: It Took Barbara Walters 5 Years to Realize Obama’s Not the Messiah? It Took Us 1 1/2 Hours

Barbara Walter’s admission Tuesday evening that she used to believe President Obama was the next messiah is predictably the target of derision and satire in conservative circles.

Making a guest appearance on Fox News’s The Five Wednesday, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said, “Five years to realize the man isn't a messiah? I think it took some of us…an hour and a half” (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):

Piers Morgan Compares Rush Limbaugh to 'The Devil Incarnate'

In a flourish of exaggeration, CNN's Piers Morgan compared Rush Limbaugh to the devil and conservatives to Genghis Khan on his Tuesday night show.

"Rush Limbaugh keeps whacking away at Pope Francis which is, you know, it's like watching the devil incarnate taking on Mother Teresa," Morgan said in his interview with Ann Coulter. He also took a shot at Limbaugh, Coulter, and other conservatives who are unhappy with Pope Francis's popularity with liberals. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Barbara Walters on Obama: ‘We Thought He Was Going To Be The Next Messiah’

Yes, she really said it.

On CNN’s Piers Morgan Live Tuesday, in a brief discussion about President Obama, Barbara Walters actually said, “We thought that he was going to be - I shouldn't say this at Christmastime, but - the next messiah” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Gun Control Advocate Piers Morgan Admits 'It's Not My Country, It's Not My Constitution'

CNN's Piers Morgan admitted that he is fighting U.S. gun laws despite it being "not my country" and "not my constitution."

In an interview with TV Newser, the CNN host explained, "It's not my country, it's not my constitution, but I'm a resident here, and I'm therefore governed by the same constitutional rights as anybody else." He also went on another mini-gun control rant on Tuesday night:
