WashPost TV Writer Mocks Planned Jeff Foxworthy Bible Game Show

Washington Post TV writer Lisa de Moraes broke out the anti-redneck sarcasm in reporting when GSN (formerly the Game Show Network) announced a new show called "The American Bible Challenge." It was somehow mandatory for her to quip, "Can't wait for the stoning-of-adulteresses question."

She began, "GSN announced Wednesday that it had signed Mitt Romney’s new BFF, Jeff Foxworthy," to host the show. She also listed how Foxworthy recently campaigned for Romney in Alabama and Mississippi.

She continued:

For one hour, Foxworthy will grill contestants on their knowledge of the Bible, GSN — which once stood for Game Show Network — told advertisers Wednesday morning in Manhattan.

GSN said the questions will be “designed to acknowledge and celebrate the Bible’s continuing importance in contemporary life and culture.” Can’t wait for the stoning-of-adulteresses question.

It appears contestants will be selected on the basis of their backstories, because GSN says contestants are going to share them with viewers at home and the studio audience.

And teams of contestants will represent “worthy faith-based organizations,” said GSN, without elaborating as to how it planned to weed out the unworthy ones.

This is the same journalist who wanted Vice President Biden to put the smackdown on Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the set of "The View" when she asked about his "Big F---ing Deal" remarks on Obamacare: "Biden did not take her by both wrists, waggle her about a bit and call her a nincompoop -- which explains why he's the vice president and we're only entrusted to run a TV column."

#1 I've run out of things

to say about liberals and theology, Bible, God, etc.
Just suffice it to say, when they get into these areas, their ignorance really comes out into the light. that is because, as the Bible says, these people love the darkness and hate the light. But scripture says there was a time when God forgave ignorance, but that is past and now all will be held accountable. and it also says that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. Not because they will be forced to do so, as with Islam, but because of the undeniable truth of Jesus the Christ.
Selah.

If you're not getting flak, you're not over the target.

#2 The left. . .

. . .is threatened again, but virtuous programming.

Repeal the Seventeenth Amendment.

#3 Regarding the stoning, Lisa

Regarding the stoning, Lisa must be referring to CURRENT Muslum practices or is it called Honor Killings? I can't keep em' straight.

#4 I'll take "7th Century

I'll take "7th Century Practices Still Conducted in the Modern Day" for $800, Alex

"Communism begins where atheism begins..." Karl Marx

He would be so proud of the progressives as they force religion out of our culture.

Lets see here mock Islam, or Atheism!

#8 The adulteress who

Was spared when Jesus spoke to the crowd about judging others? Wow that will be a real embarrassment to us silly Christians huh?

#9 Because the tango was not complete

The dude that was the other half of the adulterous couple was not grabbed when she was grabbed.

and that statement is meant if we judge, it is not wrong, but more judgement will be done on us...ie. we are putting ourselves into a position where we could be called hypocrites.

We should be wise who we judge, and do it privately first.

#10 Weeding out the unworthy ones?

They'll start by not having morons like you on the show, Lisa

#11 Zeke

If you want to know where this chick came from, read the book of Ezekiel. She was on the first wheel.

#12 You can cut the elitism, arrogance and narcissism with a knife.

Lisa de Moraes is a filthy, disgusting piece of trash. There is no other polite way of saying that. Granted I could have used much saltier language, but I cannot imagine just how massive her inferiority complex is to write that kind of hurtful bullcrap.

We are pounded over the head 24/7/365 with how "compassionate", "tolerant" and "open-minded" liberals are, and we conservatives are told we are nothing but neanderthals. Somebody should remind that piece of trash about Pauline Kael and her stupidity. Makes you wonder if Ms. de Moraes has ever stepped foot out of the Beltway to go anywhere but New York or Los Angeles.

Just as I recommended for similar screed-pushers of her low political leanings, she might try knowing something about the people she is denigrating before she opens her ignorant, gaping trap.

#14 That would be a good question!

"Can’t wait for the stoning-of-adulteresses question."

Nether can I. I mean, really, how many adulteresses have actually been stoned to death by Christians? The answer, of course, being none, at least in the last 2000 years.

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States. The US Constitution

Unless you're a fetus. The US Supreme Court

Or Anwar al-Awlaki.

#15 To be absolutely truthful,

I would love to watch a show like that! What a great way for us long-time Christians to renew and review and not to mention the millions of people who would watch and learn! So many people obviously have a sincere interest in Chrisianity and the Bible but don't care or want to belong to organized religious groups i.e., churches etc. Some of the shows on TV are ok, but sometimes "preaching" misses the point or doesn't connect real well with the folks. Good Luck Jeff and Good Job!

#16 The Christian Game

She is mocking it, because she would be one of the first, harlot's to be stoned.
