Syrupy CNN Hails Michelle Obama's 'Really Good Comic Timing' and 'Very, Very Cute' Dancing on Teen Sitcom

On Tuesday, CNN repeatedly cheered Michelle Obama’s cameo appearance on the Nickeodeon teen comedy “iCarly,” offering an obsequious basket of compliments, hailing a possible “second career” in acting and honoring her dancing as “very, very cute.”

CNN entertainment correspondent Nischelle Turner wasn’t quite correct in suggesting Mrs. Obama “signed up” for “iCarly.” The cameo was her idea (as was the First Lady’s appearance on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”).  The White House obviously plans on Michelle being honored for her poise and social conscience just for showing up on the set.

As Caitlin McDevitt reported for Politico:

Many of the first lady's TV gigs have been the East Wing's idea. "They actually pitched us," said Marva Smalls, a Nickelodeon executive who worked with Obama's staff to organize the "iCarly" appearance. The White House also approached ABC about a cameo, according to George    Verschoor, executive producer of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

Nischelle Turner was most obsequious on CNN’s Newsroom on Tuesday morning with anchor Kyra Phillips in the 10 am hour:

NISCHELLE TURNER, CNN ENTERTAINMENT CORRESPONDENT: Well Kyra, you know iCarly is one of Nickelodeon's biggest hits. And apparently it's one of Sasha and Malia's favorite shows. Plus, the show's main character's father is in the Air Force, which fits right in to the First Lady's efforts to support military families. So she signed up to make a guest appearance. The show's stars says the First Lady was a great guest star and that she has actually got really good comic timing. Plus, you know, during the show, she had some pretty good dance moves, which is very important for iCarly guest stars since every single episode features this bit random dancing, where all of the stars get up and they started, just kind of going crazy for a little bit with their dance moods. And I've seen that and she actually was very, very cute.

It was slightly less goopy in the 9 am hour:

TURNER: You know what? She's got pretty good timing there. And she got good reviews. The show stars say the First Lady was a great guest star. She's got really good comic timing, Kyra.

KYRA PHILLIPS: I'll tell you what? You've got the president celebrating Betty White's birthday with this little skit. Now, you've got Michelle Obama on Nickelodeon. I'll tell you what? You know, they're really moving into the mainstream here of pop culture.

TURNER: Watch out, Hollywood.

PHILLIPS: Yes, I'm telling you.

On Tuesday night's John King USA, they were a little less enthusiastic, but the vibe was still You Go Girl:

KATE BOLDUAN: I think she had pretty good timing. I mean, that can't be easy if you've never -- well, she is on camera quite a bit, but I think she did a pretty good job.

JOHN KING: You know, I'm sure she's having a little fun there. And actually, those kids can't vote, I don't think. But maybe some of them can. I don't know. We'll watch to see if Michelle Obama has a second career.

CNN even honored Mrs. Obama on Saturday morning:

DEBORAH FEYERICK, anchor:  And watch out, "Dancing with the Stars" – first lady Michelle Obama has got some moves. (VIDEO CLIP PLAYS) Obama showed off her random dancing moves in an appearance with the Nickelodeon "iCarly" cast at a Virginia school.

#2 I remember a co-worker of

I remember a co-worker of mine said that Michelle Obama was the best first lady this country has ever seen. After laughing in her face I asked her to tell me why she was the best first lady this country has ever seen. She got pissed and walked off......shocking.

The Obama's are counting on the same formula to win the White House again. A great smile, appearances on tv shows every 10 minutes and very few questions about their past accomplishments.........or lack thereof.

#3 "Few questions about their past accomplishments".

And, even fewer questions about their past, NC.

And, as long as the media dances to the tune played by the Obama's, it'll probably work for them.

But, I have to disagree, I don't think that Axelgrease and the rest want the First Wookie smiling too much.  Mustn't scare the kids.

Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry with what Mitt Romney does with his money, than what Obama does with mine

#4 ⇒ Very funny NC

Michelle is actually the first to have an action figure. That one sits right next to Han Solo at the controls of his pirate ship in my Star Wars collection.

Lemmee see here...........the Royal Family has started going to church.......Boy BlahBlah is flapping his purple gums about 'shrinking' the government.......Moooooooooooochelle is being touted as 'classy', 'elegant', 'stylish', and the rest of that crock.......Barry is being heralded (again) as being the smartest guy in the room, as well as the only 'grown-up'..................oh, yeah, and the Republicans are bashing each other to smithereens, instead of focusing on defeating the biggest scam ever perputrated on this country in it's history.

Must be election season....................and you KNOW that the MSM is in overdrive allready.

But that would be racist

#13 If she's considered remotely cute and comical this

country has gone downhill by far more than just the economy. Normally these creepy socialists look much better when they're sculpted. Hmmm, I wonder why that is?

#14 Don't

even want to think about what the LSM would have done/said if Pres, Bush and First Lady Laura would have done this. Oh, that's right, the Bush's have class and focused on the country. Suppose next barry and mochile will be on American Idol and oh watch out Dancing with the Stars. The country is falling apart and we have to hear about these hip-hop phonies

#15 ⇒ Been done before

Michelle Obama is a weak knockoff of Phyllis Diller and Moms Mabley. OK, those two were funny, but given what passes for comedy these days, Michelle could help fill in a lot of that dead silence over at SNL if she needs to be known as a comedian.

#16 Maybe, just maybe,---

these fawning sycophants really, really love the Wookie with the Jabba the Hut butt.

Possibly, just possibly, the lib media and all the Obama snuggle bunnies truly revel in the grifter's gifts.

Or, it could be that the current rash of pathetic, yet mon-u-mental, over the top, mind-blowing, vomit inducing displays of ass kissing are nothing more than the usual attempt at showing us conservatives how socially conscious AND conscientious these liberal weenies are.

As a liberal, if you call a conservative a racist, and kiss the gluteus MAXimus attached to Michelle the Mooch before the echo of the word racist dissipates, you will automatically receive the cherished "Twofer Award" -  a plaque emblazoned with a set of lips.

#17 My son came boiling out of

My son came boiling out of his room, having just watched the episode - night before last? He *finally* understands what I've been saying the past few years!!!

He was shocked they had her on, and was disgusted by how the kids reacted to her. I listened to him, then asked "So NOW do you believe me about how school/tv has tried to shape your worldview?"

Hallelujah, he gets it!!!

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

#18 Hey everybody look at me.......................

They portray it in the whorestreammedia that these "shows" are seeking her out, when it is the exact opposite.

My really adorable and cute 10 year old will no longer watch the show based on her not liking the Obama's at all (She liked Herman Cain).....

She watched H2O on Teen Nick instead.

ICarly jumped the shark bigtime.

In this case they jumped the "badger"

Killa at 10:20 sums it up perfectly, THEY ARE PLAYING THE MEDIA AGAIN and the media just eats this shit up.

Beats the hell out of "running the country" for real.

#19 mooshell

I want to see how "cute" everyone thinks mooshell is when she actually has to pay for the vacations, clothes and assistants she has after January. Then her true self will finally be exposed for all the Kool Aid drinkers. The rest of us have know what she is really like for some three years now.
