Palm Beach Post Columnist Slams Parents of Rep. Giffords Doctor for Supporting Tea Party Candidates

Michael Lemole is a neurosurgeon who has been treating Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. However, that noble work wasn't enough to keep Palm Beach Post Page 2 Live columnist Jose Lambiet (photo) from dragging his parents through the mud for the "high crime" of supporting Tea Party candidates. Somehow Lambiet thinks it ironic that while the son has worked to save the life of Giffords, his parents are associated with a group that Lambiet absurdly claims provided "fertile ground" for the likes of Jared Loughner. Lambiet kicks off his odious column by snarking about how wealthy Lemole's parents appear to be:

The name of Michael Lemole, the University of Arizona neurosurgeon who’s been treating U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ brain injuries since the Jan. 8 shooting, may sound familiar to Palm Beachers.

That’s because Lemole’s mom and pop, heart surgeon Gerald Lemole and his wife, Emily, live in a $7.1 million house on The Island. They also own a more modest $3.5 million house, also in Palm Beach.

Apparently, there is a greater "crime" in the mind of Lambiet than being wealthy. And that is the political crime of being a conservative:

And while Michael is saving the life of the moderate Democratic congresswoman, Gerald and Emily are more into the far, far Right — including Tea Party goofball Christine O’Donnell!

According to campaign filings, Lemole’s parents have showered with thousands in contributions — $15,700 in 2010 alone — Tea Party candidates vying for national offices.

GASP! The parents of Michael Lemole are conservatives and to make matters "worse" they have contributed to such candidates. Send in the Thought Police!

And now the very strong suggestion from Lambiet that it was Tea Party conservatives who influenced crazed shooter Jared Loughner:

Ironically: Among their favorites are some of the very people whose controversial rhetoric and campaigns are said to provide a fertile ground for the likes of Jared Loughner, who allegedly injured Giffords and killed six others in Tucson.

Not satisfied with just sliming the parents of Michael Lemole, Lambiet concludes his swim in the mud with a parting shot at the neurosurgeon himself for what he must consider the "Thought Crime" of supporting Republicans:

Michael Lemole, by the way, last year gave $1,000 to a political action committee that contributes only to Republicans.
It will be interesting to see how long, if ever, it takes for at least the Palm Beach Post to apologize for running Jose Lambiet's odious column.

#1 Holy Plastic Jesus!!!

Is there any end to this Liberal Idiocy?

#2 Sadly,

No.

#3 Liberal idiocy doesn't even begin to describe it.

I just spent over an hour wandering around the Democracy Now web site.  It was truly frightening to see how completely out of touch with reality these lefty lunatics are.  It was stunning.  They are in an alternative universe.

#4 Road Apple

Perhaps this road apple wants an amendment made to Obama Care that Doctors must show potential patients their political affiliations and provide donation list. Also must provide heritage information and political leanings of their relatives. But again since no one will admit to having read it all or understanding it, this clause might already be there.

#5 Slowly but surely...

This is going to spin out of control.

#6 I hope Dr. Lemole goes after this sick SOB with guns blazing

...AND the Palm Beach Post.

If anybody ever went after my parents like that they'd be dead meat. That's right, I said it.

The creep must be made to pay... hopefully with his job.

#7 Attack me, fine and

Attack me, fine and dandy.

ATTACK MY FAMILY?   Then we have problems.

#8 Not surprising

And Bush appointed Judge Roll died protecting a fellow human being from a gunman.

Dr. Mudd was hanged for treating a man with a broken leg who turned out to be John Wilkes Booth.

Throw in Congressman Cohen, (D) Tenn., calling Republicans Nazis, and you've got a pretty good picture of how Liberals' minds are held together . . . lynch pins.

Cohen today belittled all those Jews who fell victim to the Nazis, comparing them to pampered Americans who demand free health care as a right of their existence.

Just sick!

#9 The New McCartheyism

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the Republican Party?

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of a TEA Party?

Henchman, take them away and lock them up for Thought and Hate Crimes.

#10 Sheila's Pearls of Wisdom

My favorite pearls of wisdom today came from Sheila Jackson Lee, who said (among other things) that repealing Obamacare  would rob citizens of their Constitutional right to "due process," and cause them to die because of it. I had the great displeasure of seeing her say this, and she looked like she believed every word. Which means she doesn't have a clue about what due process really means.

#11 You know what this is about right?

This is an attempt to deflect what Giffords' parents, or father at least, did. You know, blaming the Tea Party.  Were I this doctor, I would very publicly withdraw my participation in Giffords' medical treatment. I would cite this article as the specific reason why.  For if someone things goes wrong with treatment, he could face litigation claiming political ploy. He could be accused of delaying her recovery just to push her over the limit of the seat being "vacant".  He could face what Palin did while governor.

This doctor should to make this "journalist" nationally famous well beyond the 15 minutes this cat was after with his antics..  He has an opportunity, he could be the yet unfound catalyst, to blow the lid off the entire media cabal and the garbage that has taken place about this. NewsBusters threw the pitch, I hope he hits it out of the park.

or

He could just ignore it.

I suppose ignoring it has merit, but I believe that the answer to vile speech is more speech demonstrating the lack of merit in the attack piece. I believe the proper thing to do is answer it, in spades. This man should protect himself and his parents by defending himself and them. Obviously, it is his choice and his choice alone, but I sure hope he considers deeply what was just done to him and his family - and fights back in a huge way.

Somehow, this madness has got to stop. This one has the possibility to make a huge stride toward that end, imho.

That an individual right exists requires that some policy positions be removed from the table of debate.

#12 The liberal moonbats just keep digging deeper and deeper

and I really don't think they have the slightest inkling of why they are losing so badly.

#13 Whoa, Nelly.

This is Rush's home town, isn't it?  Deserves a mention on his show I'd hope.

#14 Jose doesn't like doctors very much:

From his Facebook page:

"Of course doctors fear healthcare reform. They'll actually have to work harder for a little less money. So, it's the Beemer instead of the Mercedes. Big effing deal!"

#15 Ignoramous

Why, he sounds as intelligent as our Prez who thinks a surgeon gets 30,000 dollars for "cutting off a foot" when the Medicare reimbursement rate is approximately 300 dollars.

I'm yelling at my accountant and landlord all the time lately.  Saying I wish I could treat their bills like mine are treated.  You know, when they bill me 2,000 dollars I send in 650 dollars and say "that's what's allowed.  And no, you may not bill me again."

#16 No Qualms Whatsoever

That little town hall episode was very revealing. BHO's hypothetical involved a doctor who "might charge 30....40....50 thousands dollars" to amputate that foot.

He started out from a place of complete ignorance about the cost of the procedure, but had no qualms whatsoever about making up the $30,000 figure. And when apparently that didn't sound quite greedy ENOUGH, he arbitrarily inflated the number until it felt right. What a putz.

#17 Says a guy with a J-degree.

A guy who didn't go through years of school/internship for his career choice.

#18 Unbelievable

Unbelievable.  Based on Jose Lambiet's asinine assertions, Michael Lemole shouldn't have bothered saving Gabrielle Gifford's life I guess.  After all, Dr. Lemole gave an entire $1000 to a Republican PAC... he must be Satan.

#19 What is his point....?

Does he think that when people find out about the political leanings of the doctor and his parents that they will care ?   If she leans of this will Ms. Giffords cry out "Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!" ...?     The piece is nothing but a gratuitous hit job.

#20 If the left-wing is so scared

If the left-wing is so scared of the Tea Party that they are not even willing to be fair and honest when reporting about it, the Tea Party MUST be good for America.  I am officially a Tea Party member now.  If there is a race between a Republican and a Tea Party candidate, I will go with the Tea Party candidate.

I wasn't sure until lately.  However, after witnessing the way the left has responding since Tucson I am now for certain this is my new party.

How can I change my name? :)

#22 This is the fever that libs have and spread

In it's own way it is like the worst of racism.  If someone obviously qualified and doing a first rate job is not a lib,  or his family is not a lib, then that person is defective?!

You know,  I bet if someone had your heart in their hand,  you wouldn't want an a-hole like you JOSE distracting with your poison and lib BULL.

hbnolikeee

#23 How far will this go?

This is what I was afraid of from the backlash of the shooting and the misdirected "rage" of who is responsible.  Hell, Sheriff Dipstick by his OWN ADMISSION on Wolf Blitzer admitted to some complicity in (not)dealing with the shooter before it happened, and he also admitted not knowing about those favorite books even after everyone else found out about them (through an easy search no less: Mein Kampf, Communist Manifesto, etc).  Dipstick is setting himself up for some serious lawsuits if anyone had any druthers.

But he and many others (msnbc) continue to spread the lies to the wacko-willing-to-listen-to-other-wackos and may just end up fomenting violence far worse than Fuller's verbal threat.

These out of control libs are the tea party members' enemies, or anyone who holds the Constitution dear.  Hell, the fed government is our enemy already, we don't need anymore.  Democrats like Jackson Lee and Jesse Jackson junior and Reid and Durbin are freedom's enemies as well.  The difference between myself for example saying that versus the rhotoric that they had said (Nazi Bush and so on) is that nothing happened like they thought and THEY are the ones trying to make it happen!  For every claim that they say that the Republicans and Conservatives are doing, their side are the culprits doing those actions.

As I said, they are out of control, and the rest of us need to be on our guard.

God, these bastards are stark raving nuts!

-Jon

#24 Jon

Don't feel the need to explain or apologize for calling the likes of Pelosi, Reid, et al the enemies of freedom. It is what they are and that's a fact.

Jose sounds like he would be a great asset to Obama's domestic army, kicking in the doors of the educated and wealthy in the middle of the night. Dragging away the elderly parents of society's producers in the name of the proletariat.

#25 Michael Lemole Working Hard For "Team Hate"

Lemole had to dig way down to the bottom of that hate bag to pull out another way to take a shot at and misrepresent the Tea Parties.  It's too irrational to believe someone would go that far. That's a pretty gutless way to do business.  If you have to work that hard to find a way undermine your opponent, it should occur to you that you're doing something wrong.

#26 Boil it Down Retraction - Wrong Name "Jose Lambiet"

I apologize for mixing up Michael Lemole (the surgeon) with Jose Lambiet (hateful columnist).  Yes, I'm sober, just too tired to be writing.

Just one more bit of glaring evidence the liberal and gay gene are one in the same. Or at the very least kissing cousins.

#29 If you read the comments....

following the column you'll see seething anger at this libtard.  Sorry, I meant libturd of course!  After reading his shotgunned message I'm ready to aim my sights on him and draw him into my crosshairs.  But I'm sticking to my guns on this one even if I can't quite hit the bullseye from where I'm sniping.  This is a powder keg about to explode.

#30 You are right on target, my

You are right on target, my friend! Fire for effect!!

#31 What exactly is real,

...according to this person's fevered mind? Look at what he said:

"the very people [meaning, Tea Party'rs] whose controversial rhetoric and campaigns are said to provide a fertile ground for the likes of Jared Loughner," -- he spouts this as truth. No questions. No wiggle room. It's a liberal fact that Tea Party comments and activities cause people to shoot and kill, and anyone who disagrees is a derranged fool.

He also said "who allegedly injured Giffords and killed six others in Tucson." -- Allegedly?!!@? Allegedly???? As in, no doubt whatsoever? He's giving this lunatic the benefit of the doubt? Allegedly?

And yet the editors of the newspaper publish this tripe for their readers. Pathetic.

#32 Yeah, well, THEIR son is a

Yeah, well, THEIR son is a doctor. What did you do with your life, loser? Oh, a journolist. Is that even a job?

#33 This won't hurt a bit .......

So the son is a hero BECAUSE he is doing a great job with Giffords??????

But his bastard parents who also happen TO BE DOCTORS, what only have saved card carrying Republicans their whole careers?

Is there a box that needs to be checked off BEFORE SURGERY?

I have a newsflash for this asshole as well, MOST doctors are AGAINST Obummercare and MOST doctors lean Republican (a survey was put out a few years back).

Think about this also folks, THEY ARE DIGGING UP DIRT ON THE DOCTOR AND HIS FAMILY, simply put..... WTF?

If you make poverty easy, you will have more of it. Benjamin Franklin

#34 Is this like.......

I stopped subscribing to that rag years ago.  I guess what Lambiet is saying is he'll check the political credentials of his surgeons before he allows the to work on him.  I guess we'll have to wait to see how that works out for him.

Liberals really are dispicible human beings, putting politics into everything.  It's no wonder the Post is losing subscribers every day.

Vote Republican - Then you'll only be called a racist one more time.

#35 Just Another Ignorant Liberal

It's amazing that liberal journalists have any integrity left after this Tuscon tragedy and all their shoddy reporting.

This ignorant bozo is just another in a long line of clueless leftist liberals, who have to blame someone conservative for this horrific shooting.  To put the blame on the shooter alone is not enough.

This crazy loon shot those people himself.  He made plans to do this and carried them out himself.  His friends have even described him as a "Bush hater" and "a stoned liberal".  But the leftist liberal media just ignores these facts and continues to point fingers to Tea Party supporters, conservatives and anyone else they can think of.

These people are pathetic.

#36 Gabby Needs a Doctor?

I'm surprised that Rep. Giffords still needs a doctor. I mean, didn't Obama heal her? You may recall during his pep rally in Tucson he announced "After we visited her room . . . Gabby opened her eyes for the first time. Gabby opened her eyes for the first time. Gabby opened her eyes. Gabby opened her eyes so she knows we're here."

Surprising she still needs additional medical care.

#37 He's a racist and hates the military

What really galls this jackwagon is that his Palm Beach County utopia was shattered by the overwhelming election of Allen West, a Tea Party candidate, as their Congressman.

Allen West is black and a former Col. in the military.

Thus, using the logic of those on the left, Jose Lambiet is a racist and hates our military.

We say grace and we say ma'am and if you ain't into that we don't give a damn.

#38 I think I will be a one person protest on the 29th at thispaper

I would go this weekend but I have my daughter.

It's time folks stood up to this type of bullying.

#39 It's A-OK to elect a

It's A-OK to elect a President we know little about and who's records are secret. It's also not cool to ask illegal aliens to provide ID whether they are driving or have been caught in another crime. But if you're a surgeon working on a Democrat that everybody loves today but nobody heard of before last week, you better damn well vet yourself and your family.

Jose's probably worried because in his mind it would be justifiable for a Democrat doctor to kill a Republican patient.

#40 So, Lambiet has a problem

So, Lambiet has a problem with the doctor's parents owning two several million dollar mansions.  I wonder if he has a problem with the real estate owned by Oprah, or Steven Speilberg, or Tom Hanks...Since when is it a bad thing in this country to work hard, save money, and spend it the way you want to?
