Maher: Southerners Should Only Celebrate Confederate Heritage Once a Year - 'St. Cracker's Day'
By Noel Sheppard | March 17, 2012 | 13:23
As NewsBusters has been reporting, Bill Maher spent much of his week bashing red states.
After taking a cheap shot at Kansas early in Friday's Real Time on HBO, Maher took aim at Southerners saying that they should only celebrate their Confederate heritage once a year - "We'll call it 'St. Cracker's Day'" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
BILL MAHER: New Rule, if Irish Americans can manage to celebrate their heritage in just one day, then Southerners should be able to do also. That’s right, instead of spending the whole year flying the Confederate Flag and saying “The South Will Rise Again,” you get just one day. We’ll call it “St. Cracker's Day.” And we even have the t-shirt [“Kiss Me I’m Yer Sister”]. [Laughter and applause] Tough show for the South.
Hysterical, isn't it?

I would have to get in a very long line to get a shot at the camel humper.
If anyone EVER wonders why I hate liberals nowadays, it's because you LIKE assholes like Maher. You tolerate his vile, hate speech, then turn to conservatives and tell us to keep the "hate speech" quiet?
Liberals, either police the Shiite on your side of the aisle, or shut the hell up when we tend to get a bit edgy when some POS like Maher unloads (mostly) on conservative women.
I'm spotting him a good 25 years, and I could still kick his ass. In fact, I know a couple of ladies who could kick his ass, so bring it on down, mofo.

I get the impression that LAM was being sarcastic. Libs aren't usually that funny at dry humor, and LAM gave me a good chuckle with his response. If we good ol' boys can't take a bit of humor, we aren't so good after all.

This pos should be prosecuted and sent to a Southern prison. Then we would see how long his "funny" humor would last. I blame Time/Warner owners of HBO for having NO sense of decency and have called their offices many times. The only answer I get is total bs. The left really steps up and tries to govern its own, doesn't it.

But seriously ... um, bad choice of words.
What I'm trying to say is, Mohair's remaining on the air is an indication of just how small a fraction of the viewing public you need to make the program profitable and give the boss a good income. For him, say a few dirty words a program, sneer at ordinary people, call a few Republican women "c***s," and as long as you endorse abortion and make jokes about Bush's last name and you've got a renewable contract on HBO.

When your Modus operandi is to demean and discredit people you don't agree with, that is an indication that your political ideology is vapid and without foundation.
During his network days this guy claimed to be a libertarian yet espoused liberal talking points. I thought he was just another stupid comedian and didn't understand what it meant to be a libertarian. After all liberal/libertarian it all kinda sounds the same right Billy?
No - Maher is completely without substance. This guy acts like a liberal because he couldn't get work in hollywood without the card. He gets paid by HBO to behave as a liberal yip dog. But in reality he is a psuedo intellectual without a fiber of conviction in his whole body. Truth is he just hates people which is a reflection of how he views himself. A strong wind would blow this guy back to OZ where he belongs.

You know that if Billy ever said that stuff to someone who wasn't just an ass-kisser, he'd be picking teeth out of his stool for weeks afterwards. But he's too much of a coward to actually confront people who don't agree with him, and has to stick with his sycophantic audience which isn't smart enough to know when to clap without the flashing red sign.

Having moved to the South in the late 80's, the first thing I noticed was that, on average, the women were by far and away much prettier then the women of the Chicago area of my youth. The girl in the T-Shirt is pretty much your average looking Southern Lady, so Maher get's that part right, at the very least.

Well, heck, while we're talking about holidays, there already is one for folks like Bill Maher. It's called "April Fool's Day". And I bet plenty of us Southerners would proudly wear T-Shirts specially made up for the occasion, saying "Bill Maher, we celebrate your day: April Fools Day".
I'd love to kick Bill's whiney li'l butt but there wouldn't be much left after the Southern women got through with him (any one of which are more woman than Bill would ever get).

Submitted by m1xram on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 11:05pm.
Let's not talk about the South. It was Democratic until the Republican Civil Rights movement when the Black Forefathers came about. They said, "never vote Democrat," unless you like lynching. It was difficult but the racist Democrats were voted out. They implement Jim Crow laws for decades. Now Maher doesn't like the South. Why is that? Does he wish for those bygone Democratic times?

#33 Democrat circus act
Submitted by spepper on Sun, 03/18/2012 - 12:04pm.
Maher is quite the Democrat circus act-- first he goes on quite the rampage this week with his "Toothless Tuesday" slap at the AL and MS GOP primaries, then has the nerve to follow that with a "St Crackers Day" rant on Friday. He's got quite the roll going-- and he should keep right on going with it, til November. It will be one of the biggest reasons for the failure to re-elect Obama if he loses. Bigoted attacks such as his ALWAYS come back to bite the bigot in the butt.
