Anderson Cooper Bashes Santorum by Recycling Supposedly Racial Remark

On the campaign trail, Republican candidate Rick Santorum blurted out a word that sounded like "black" and was widely-criticized for making a generalization that black citizens rely on welfare. Though the transcript of the remark is not entirely certain, CNN's Anderson Cooper emphasized the comment anyway with a "Keeping Them Honest" report on his Thursday show.

The title "Keeping Them Honest" implies that the subject is being dishonest, but Cooper admitted that he was grilling Santorum for "what he appears to be saying." [Video below the break. Click here for audio.]

Santorum, talking about Medicaid and the growing number of people receiving entitlements, stated that "I don't want to make (Unintelligible) people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money. I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money." The disputed word is said by some to sound like "blah," but others claim he said "black," as in "black people."

On the previous day's show, correspondent Gary Tuchman included the clip with a series of controversial remarks that insinuated Santorum was a racist and a homophobe.

Cooper played the clip once, aired Santorum's first response, and then played a longer clip to provide context. After airing Santorum's next response, where he claimed he didn't recall saying "black," Cooper played the remark again for the third time.

At the segment's end, Cooper cited another comment, this time from candidate Newt Gingrich, that was also "drawing fire."

"And so I'm prepared, if the NAACP invites me, I'll go to their convention and talk about why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps," was Gingrich's statement. A controversy erupted at CBS over his referring to the African-Americans as "satisfied" with food stamps.

Cooper, however, did not play the entire clip this time for proper context. Just before that quote, Gingrich had insisted that "there's no neighborhood I know of in America where if you went around and asked people would you rather your children have foodstamps or paychecks, you wouldn't end up with a majority saying they'd rather have a paycheck."

A transcript of the segment, which aired on January 5 at 8:01 p.m. EST, is as follows:

ANDERSON COOPER: The former Pennsylvania senator speaking tonight at a probably more friendly venue. A "Faith, Family and Freedom" town hall. "Keeping Him Honest," though, in some other recent statements that are really causing controversy, namely because the candidate is denying he even said what he appears to be saying. It happened at a campaign stop in Iowa on Sunday. Listen.

(Video Clip)

SANTORUM: I don't want to make (Unintelligible)  people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money. I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money.

(End Video Clip)

COOPER: Well, the next day, CBS's Scott Pelley asked him about that.

(Video Clip)

SCOTT PELLEY, CBS NEWS: You said that you don't want to make black people's lives better --

SANTORUM: Yeah, I'm still –

PELLEY: – by giving them somebody else's money. Why did you say that?

SANTORUM: I've seen – I've seen that quote. And I haven't seen the context in what that was made. Yesterday, I talked, for example, about a movie called – what was it? "Waiting for Superman," which was about black children. And so I don't know whether if it was in response and I was talking after talking about that, so let me just say, no matter what, I want to make every lives better. I don't want anybody – and I think if you look what I've been saying, I've been pretty clear about my concern for dependency in this country and concern for people not being more dependent on government, whatever their race or ethnicity is.

(End Video Clip)

COOPER: That's Rick Santorum, Monday suggesting the problem might have been a lack of context. So to help you decide whether or not he was implying African-Americans are being supported by everyone else, we found a longer version of his remarks. Listen.

(Video Clip)

SANTORUM: It just keeps expanding. I was in Indianola a few months ago and I was talking to someone who works at the Department of Public Welfare here, and she told me that the state of Iowa is going to get fined if they don't sign up more people under the Medicaid program. They're just pushing harder and harder to get more and more of you dependent upon them so they can get your vote. That's what the bottom line is. I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money. I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money.

(End Video Clip)

COOPER: Seems clear the subject is welfare dependency and the dependent people he's talking about are African-American. But now Senator Santorum, after explaining his remarks as if they were in fact racial, isn't saying nope, he wasn't even -- well, he's saying he wasn't even talking about African-Americans, that the word "black" never actually passed his lips. That's what he's saying now. Listen.

(Video Clip)

SANTORUM: I looked at the video and I don't -- in fact, I'm pretty confident I didn't say black. What I think I started to say a word and sort of, bluh –  sort of mumbled it and changed my thought, but I don't -- I don't recall saying black. No one in that audience, no one listening, no reporter there, heard me say that. I think it was – and from everything I see and I've looked at it several times, I was starting to say one word and I sort of came up with a different word and moved on and it – and it sounded like black.

(End Video Clip)

COOPER: Well, the question is, do you buy that? You've already heard it once. And a second time in greater context. I just want to play for you one more time. You can decide for yourself. Listen.

(Video Clip)

SANTORUM: I don't want to make (Unintelligible) people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money. I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money.

(End Video Clip)

COOPER: So decide for yourself. Newt Gingrich is also drawing fire. His remarks from this morning. Listen.

(Video Clip)

NEWT GINGRICH, Republican presidential candidate: And so I'm prepared, if the NAACP invites me, I'll go to their convention and talk about why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps.

(End Video Clip)

The sad part of all this is that whether he said it or not, it is the TRUTH! and the same with Newt

but the problem with America today is...you speak the truth of what is happening in the black community and boom, you are all of a sudden a racist.

The Democratic party gives handouts and it is suppose to be. They don't give skills, ability to move up, just simple hand outs to keep certain sectors of our society happy enough, but dependent enough on government.

As I have known for a long time, most of the true racists in America reside in the Democratic party and Left side of politics.

#13 What i didn't get...

...was how, after playing the longer version, he gets that Santorum was "obviously" talking about blacks. Santorum was saying "Iowa is going to get fined if they don't sign up more people under the Medicaid program. They're just pushing harder and harder to get more and more of you dependent upon them so they can get your vote." Did i miss something watching the video? Maybe something in my video settings caused a room full of black people to appear white to me. But from what i saw he was telling a room full of white people that Washington wanted to get more of them dependent on Washington. (By the way...wasn't Iowa the state that was "too white", and if so, how can he possibly be talking about blacks when he is telling Iowans Washington wants them dependent?)

#14 Just admit saying it

Santorum should just stop being a political weasel and just admit he said it. There's nothing inherently WRONG with what he said, though --- since BLACK unemployment , BLACK welfare, and BLACK public assistance is higher than any other group. and the TRUTH IS that BLACK people (for the most part) don't want other people's money (I hope!).

Unintelligible? Really??  Okay so "said by some" means people that agree with him, or people that are biased enough to deny the truth no matter what, and by "others" you mean people that are capable of hearing?

And as for thinking that he's right in his assumption about black people, you're wrong.  The majority of welfare goes to white Americans, especially in Iowa.

#25 afanofcs*

Not sure of your intent but about the "majority of welfare goes to white Americans"...

That is a statement that can be distorted for many reasons.  If you are talking raw numbers, yes, whites are the greater numbers of  entitlement recipients.  If you break down the numbers into percentages,  whites are 70% of all Americans. Thats 35% of welfare recipients from a group of  about 200 million people.   On the other hand, the largest % of welfare recipients are minorities. Blacks at 39.7%, of a group that is about 12 million,  Native Americans at 37%, and Hispanics at 27%.  Asians at 6%.

When you have a small group of people and almost 40% is dependent on the government, you have a very different story than when you state majority of welfare recipients are white.  Iowa is majority white so, duh.

Skewing numbers to push a particular bias or agenda is typical of liberals so we need to be very clear when presenting figures by percentages.

#26 You got a bit of troll snot on your sleeve.

There you got it.

Man those trolls have a tendency to leak bodily fluids when they get cracked upside the head with the fact-stick.

#27 Good points, but nice try

My intent was shed light on the FACT that Santorum has his FACTS wrong. I was referring to it in the matter of where the money goes. That's the main issue in all of this right? The money! Where it goes, and where it comes from.

And as far as "skewing" numbers goes...you did a pretty good job of that yourself. You speak of bias so should I refer to you as "the pot" because isn't that what this whole site is about? When I said "the majority of Americans" I meant just that. THE MAJORITY!!! Color doesn't matter to me as it obviously does to Santorum, and you.

I did not accuse you of anything. I only asked you to clarify your intent  due to the manner in which you conferred "majority".

No assumption was made on your intent.  However, typical lib troll, you responded with insults and stereotypes.

Thanks, with that "clarification", you answered my question....;-)

#30 "No assumption was made on

"No assumption was made on your intent. However, typical lib troll, you responded with insults and stereotypes."  Was said after your initial response that contained the word "duh" and the statement  "Skewing numbers to push a particular bias or agenda is typical of liberals so we need to be very clear when presenting figures by percentages."  Seems a bit hypocritical doesn't it?  Okay,  we'll just go with kettle then.

And my intent was pretty well stated from my first comment.  He said what he said,  facts are facts, and he was WRONG!

Now to be fair I'll apologize if you took offense to my first response, but you have to realize that I'm going to respond in the same manner I was responded to.  If you keep it civil I promise you will get the same in return.

#31 Oh and that opinion carries so much weight too, don't it.

Why are you here telling us how wrong Sen. Santorum was. Why don't you email him directly and call him a liar. After all, we really don't care what an anonymous moniker that thinks it is ok to lie just because he hides behind an anonymous moniker. Might carry some more weight if didn't come here simply to troll every few weeks, huh?

Here is his contact page, call him a liar directly, hopefully using your real name. You are once again becoming an extreme boor whose only response when questioned is to repeat your same tired phrase of the day over and over again.

#33 Libtards?

Even if you had proof (which you don't) of any of the nonsense you just presented, it still has nothing to do with what bothers me about Santorum. He said what he said, and 1. He's wrong. 2. He's lying about what is plain to hear on video and some of the people on here are falling for it. He truly thinks he's smarter than everyone else.

So here's the challenge. Give me proof of liberals being bigoted and the media not reporting on it, and fellow liberals going along with it. Gonna be kinda hard, but you should be up to it. Seek truth, defend liberty right? Good luck

#51 How seared and cleared the

How seared and cleared the conscience of a liberal must be. When a Dem says they didn't say something that they did, all is forgotten...it is buried as deep as Obama's records. Just one example, Pelosi threatening extortion by revealing info on Newt from ethics hearings...but lo and behold, Nancy had to be told how that is a crime in itself (who would expect the former-Speaker to know the rules?)..suddenly from Nancy, "That's not what I said". Sure Nanc, no prob for lib-trolls like fanofpropaganda..all is forgiven. So crucify Santorum for saying something that is not a crime (yet) and give Pelosi a pass for a threat of blackmail. How typical.

#52 Sorry

I must have glanced over this one as I was going through all the nonsense yesterday.  Where to start?  You said this:"When a Dem says they didn't say something that they did, all is forgotten...it is buried as deep as Obama's records." And gave just one little poor desperate example of it.  Talk about hearing what you want to hear!  I'm sure there is much on the public record(which she was referring to) that the public does not know about Newts lack of ethics.  Also, she never denied saying it BECAUSE IT'S ON VIDEO! She said it was taken the wrong way.  Whether you believe her or not is your choice, but it makes your point a non-valid one.  So let's try this again.

She never denied saying what is clear to hear on the audio of the video.  It's right there for everyone to hear and she completely stands by what she said.

He has totally denied saying what is clear to hear on the audio of the video.  It's right there for everyone to hear and he is totally running from what he said.

Thoughts?  Try to remember that the main point of my initial comment was how you all feel about him lying about what is plain to hear on tape.  Please try!?!?! cause this is getting ridiculous.

#53 Oh..fan, you're a lying idiot

Oh..fan, you're a lying idiot and I would blackmail you when I got the chance. But, that's not what I mean.
Wow! That's convenient and freeing. No wonder liberals have no morals, they're so stifling.

Oh, BTW, besides Newt being cleared on those ethics charges..it violates House rules to reveal the meetings...it is also blackmail to threaten someone in order to get something you find valuable...Pelosi should be charged. She has committed numerous crimes..but that's okay with you, because Santorum said 'black'. gasp!

#54 Swing and a miss!

So that's equal to this how? He corrected himself on the spot and I dont remember anybody denying that it even happened. You wanna know why? BECAUSE IT'S ON VIDEO! That's the whole point of this. Was he supported for saying that? Did he think the public was dumb enough to not realize what he said is on tape? Probably not.

So how does it feel? Santorum said what he said. Whether you agree with him or not is not what's up for debate, but he thinks the public (including you and everyone on here) is too stupid to realize that what he said is recorded on clear audio for everyone to hear.

#58 afanofcommonsense, Really?

afanofcommonsense,

Really? you are a fan of common sense? If you were you would not be a Liberal...

Anyway, you just gave NB one of the easiest challenges, proof of Liberals being bigoted.

Start with this one. The screams and cries of racism from the Left thrown at the Right if this had been said would have never ended.

Here is another one. Imagine the screams and cries of racism against the Right from the Left if this had been said by a prominent Republican.

How about when the popular Left wing blog,  depicted and stereotyped Republican Michael Steel as simple sambo.

Or when a Liberal cartoonist depicted and stereotyped Dr. Condeleezza Rice as a simple Aunt Jemima?

I can continue on and on with Liberal bigotry, but you are swimming in the deep end of Liberal rhetoric and simplicity. If you need me too I can link you up to Liberal bigotry against women, blacks, Hispanics, Whites, etc, etc.

You a fan of common sense?  The only thing you seem to be a fan of is Liberal talking points which are easily proven wrong.

#59 So I ask for examples of

So I ask for examples of liberals being bigoted, and the media not reporting it, and you give me pretty weak examples of liberals being bigoted and the media reporting on it. All this had been seen already BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN REPORTED ALREADY. You couldn't even find any prominent left wing politicians that agree with them? I wonder...did any of these people deny saying what they said?

So I have to ask since you all got sidetracked on the actual issue. Did he say it or not? (He did) And if so, why doesn't he just admit it?

Oh and by the way, I have a life people, and it's the playoffs. I've never backed down on this site and have always kept it civil when someone responds to me in the same way. There's no need to think I ran and hid when I didn't respond for awhile. Grow up!

Sorry I missed the link because I stepped away for a good while and I was just skimming through the responses. I'll go back and check for it in a bit. That question was in response to a specific post, but the point is that both sides get caught in these situations and for the most part they both pop up in the media. It never goes unreported. The issue here really is Santorum and the fact that he said this, got caught, and now he thinks we're dumb enough to believe his lame excuse. My initial response was to the writer of the story who also thinks Santorums lame excuse is valid

A more realistic (new word there look it up) question would be:  "Show me proof where a Liberal came across as a bigot and the media fundamentally ignored it, whilst shining the love light on the Conservative who may have Macaw (sp) ed himself into oblivion.

Yeah, right.

Yes you are a Liberal.  I read your blurb.  But like all Liberals with arrested development and poor foundation skills, you come across as someone who can't think their way out of a paper bag.  (hint - pull it off your head.)

But, you are right, you have a life, called the playoffs.  Well, the life here is called the post-season playoffs for the office of POTUS.

#63 Sorry

Okay so none of that made any sense becuase whatever you quoted did not come out on my page. I take it you just put some weak, pointless quote that was reported and nobody really cared about. Besides, if you read my profile maybe you should read some of my past comments, because if you did you would see that I have noted on many many many occassions that BOTH sides are usually guilty of making stupid comments.

Now the real problem here isn't how I frame questions. The problem is that you don't have an answer! So I'll bring it up again since nobody seems to be able to answer it.

DO YOU BELIEVE HE SAID IT? (he did) AND IF SO WHY WOULD HE DENY IT? (if it's no big deal)

Try to remember that it's all on video.

On a side note...I always find it funny when someone that has no clue who I am claims to know how I am. Hilarious!

ROTFLMAO.

#65 No more than they care about

No more than they care about your "comments."

#66 Actually, balboa---

NB conservatives, for the most part,  get along pretty well around here as far as being in agreement about conservative values.

While there are indeed glaring exceptions, there surely aren't many instances of liberals posting comments that are hailed as anything other than what they are - lib ideology, opinions, blatant Obama ass kissing, or pure bullshit.

So, your comment is based on nothing more than wishful thinking, jealousy, or it was just a snark remark.

YES! Look at all the crazies like you that come out to respond. If they didn't care they wouldn't. My opinion is just as valid as yours. I'm still waiting on someone to answer the initial question, but as usual nobody here can provide anything to the actual argument. What a shame.

Good fictitious god I had forgotten how fun this is! I will thank you for making your comments simple and short. Some of these other goofs go on and on about nothing, and don't even make an attempt to make sense.

Now to the point. NO!! You like others on here totally avoided the topic at hand. Probably because you're aware that Santorum thinks you're an idiot.

And I've been enjoying the nonsense on NB for over two years now. I remember when one moron on here told me I wouldn't last six weeks. So I don't think I'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

ONE LAST TIME: Do you think that Santorum said what anybody with at least one working ear and at least half a brain knows he said? And if so, How do you feel about him lying to the public about what is very clearly heard on video?

afanofcommonsense,

LOL, bigotry from the Left that went unreported. Hmmm...if we know about it, someone, somewhere reported it, right? Here, I'll give you a challange, show us all bigotry from the Right that has gone unreported. Oh, wait, you wouldn't be able to because if you show it to me, guess what?, it was reported.

Hmmm...the examples that I showed, most of them went unreported on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, New York Times, Washington Post and other prominent national main stream media. On the other hand, when the Left claims that a Right winger said or did something racist, the media will go on and on and on for days reporting on it. Do you honestly believe that if instead of Biden or Hillary, a Right winger would have made fun of Indians the way these two racists did, the national media would have not dedicated countless of days on their words?

And pretty weak examples? You would be the first one in line screaming, yelling, pulling your hair off telling us all how racist a Right winger is if he/she would have said, drawn or done any of the examples I gave you above. But thanks for proving my point. Liberals are bigots and huge ones. Look how you minimize pretty nasty, pretty bad bigotry and racism by Liberals.

Sorry, you just aren't worth the time. I know your Liberal kind, you swim in Liberal hypocrisy and are incapable of having an honest conversation. You are just looking to justify your anti-Conservative beliefs. In this case, you are desperate to prove that Santorum is somehow a racist. LOL It plays nice with the Liberal "nightmare" that all of us on the Right are racist. Keep on swallowing Left wing propaganda. Civil? Civil means engaging and not minimizing Left wing bigotry to justify your bigotry against Conservatives.

Hey, do you remember when candidate Obama said that Americans were afraid of him because of his name? nah, no bigtry from then candidate Obama, right?

Or how about the time this idiot of a President, as a candidate, claimed that people clinge to their guns, religion, etc. Nah, no bigotry there.

Continue, but don't expect intelligent individuals to engage you. You insults us with your mere presence. There are much more intelligent Liberals around NB who know the real meaning of civility. You are just not one of them. Keep on living in your self-fufilling prophecy and keep on telling yourself that Santorum is a racist who said what you claim he said. You need to, you have to, you must believe it, if not, your simple Liberal world will fall apart.

and by the way, I as a minority, 100% agree with Santorum's point. But Liberals can't engage this point, they must instead attack the messenger instead of the message. It is about time that minorities stop depending so much on government. But Liberals don't want to debate this point because went put forth this way, must people do not want to depend on government. Thus, the Liberal need to instead of engaging the message, they must attack the character of the messenge rwho said a Truth.

#78 Where to start with oyur nonsense?

First of all...WOW!!!  All that was pretty pathetic.

"LOL, bigotry from the Left that went unreported. Hmmm...if we know about it, someone, somewhere reported it, right? Here, I'll give you a challange, show us all bigotry from the Right that has gone unreported. Oh, wait, you wouldn't be able to because if you show it to me, guess what?, it was reported."

First off, I never claimed that the rights bigotry was undocumented.  It's documented very well actually.  My point was that they both get reported on.  It's just a little more common on the right and it looks worse.  Now don't try to act clever cause this was brought up on this same post just a little while ago so you can't claim it.

Hmmm...the examples that I showed, most of them went unreported on ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, New York Times, Washington Post and other prominent national main stream media.

Wrong again!  I knew about them and I stopped watching FNC a long time ago.

Actually they were pretty weak, and to be honest I don't think I ever mentioned him being a racist.  In fact that right there was the first time I typed racist all day.  Like I've said waaaaaay to many times today.  I JUST WANNA KNOW WHAY HE'S LYING, AND IF HE THINKS YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIEVE HIM?  I guess I know the answer.

I would continue with your pathetic msg but frankly it's not worth it.  You will notice I only throw insults when they're thrown at me first, so your claims are baseless and to be honest I really don't believe a word you say.  Hilarious!!!

#81 I treat cognitively impaired patients, AFAC.

It is in our nature to hear what we want to hear and to take context from our own beliefs and the structures we mentally employ to reinforce what we believe. If you think Santorum said "black" then that is what your mind will tell you to defend, even if others did not hear it the same way.

As for liberals being bigoted, have you bothered checking into the scandal involving the Center for American Progress and the anti-Semitic email controversy? I suggest you look it up. Try doing your own research for a change.

Quite frankly, the quality of liberal troll on this site has gone down dramatically since Auntie Wingie and Cleviepoo were both knocked off the site. You are just so much more navel lint.

#82 Guess you can't read

You must have navel lint in your eye. What a douchebag? HE SAID BLACK! If you watch that video and you don't hear him say it, then you're the reason he's lying about it. He knows there are people that are as cluless as you that will fall for it.

And you need to actually read some of my prior comments before you expose your ignorance. I simply stated that when a liberal puts his/her foot in their mouths it always reported on. It just happened to Santorum and his poor response to it had made it worse.

Quite frankly, the quality of conservative troll on here has always been piss poor. Very few sane people on here. It's amazing what will get you kicked off this site though.

#84 ~Honestly

I don't see what the big deal is if he did say black. It's not like he said anything mean-spirited.
It's a fact that there's a disproportionately high percentage of black people on welfare; making a reference to that fact isn't bigoted.
Do you think just saying the word 'black' is racist?

Obama's WTF 2012 campaign slogan: "A dog in every pot"

#85 NO!

That's the point I've been trying to make while trying to skim through all these responses. I'm not calling him a racist,(never have) and to be honest I didn't really care when I first heard he said it. My issue, and what I've been asking all day is about his response. How do you feel about his defense on what you can clearly hear on video. If I supported him I would question his respect for his base considering how he has handled all of this.

Now I know that one of the issues that has been raised since he said it was the fact that as far as numbers go...he's off. Some of the medias response has been to the fact that he could have just as easily said "white" instead because the majority of welfare goes to white Americans. For me what he said meant nothing. LIke I said...how he has handled it since is what troubled me.

"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

#86 Didn't cajun already explain

Didn't cajun already explain this to you, in terms of majority populations and the proportion of welfare enrollment? Typical lib, pass right over facts and just keep spouting your same tired point over and over.
So let's take your point and make it policy, less blacks than whites living on the dole. That must mean the black community is doing alright. At least better than the white community. So affirmative action, hiring preferences, job fairs, job training, government outreach and all should be concentrated on the white population, since you've implied now that the black community is doing better they can now be left to stand on their own two feet. Call the CBC and let them know. Let them know it's time for Obama to start lamenting the situation of the whites in his speeches and adjust the job numbers accordingly, they must have the high black unemployment numbers wrong. It must be...when I drive through my neighborhood on a weekday afternoon, it must be that all the welfare taking white males are inside their house watching Montel, and all the black males have jobs that require they stand outside hanging around on the sidewalks.

#87 good one ant*

Bet he won't be spouting that  "majority of welfare is whites" thing anytime soon.........LOL

#88 So sad

I truly from the bottom of my heart feel sorry for some of the people on here. I konw politics sometimes makes people delusional, but this is pretty pathetic.

Okay, we'll get to how you totally avoided the main point of all my comments here the last two days and get to the blah blah blah you and the hypocrite are so obsessed with.

So let's ses if we can try some compromise. (I know it's a hard concept for some on here) I'll give you "the majority of the black population is on welfare, BUT that still means that the actual majority of the $$$(the most importan thing of all) is still going to white Americans. How's that? It takes care of your pointless fact and my pointless fact at the same time. If skin color isn't an issue for you all then the main concern would be where the money is going. Whether you like it or not, the majority of the $$$ is going to?????? C'mon you can say it...It won't hurt...that's right, white people.

NOW, to the real point that you and sooooooooo many others have chosen to ignore on all my post...how do you feel about the FACT that he said what he said on tape, and thinks the public (you guys) are stupid enough to fall for his lame excuses? He thinks you all are idiots, and based on some of the comments on here...I'm starting to see why he does so.

When I'm so motivated, unless you have the numbers handy, there are some points that should be looked at here (If that's not too off-topic, since you have deemed yourself moderator here) in regards to $$$ spent on welfare.
One being that whites make up a large roll of food stamp recipients (again, cajun has already explained the math to you). But not necessarily other programs such as housing, which would account for more money spent. A vast majority of the blacks in Philly are living in a house paid by the tax-payers (taxes, BTW, that also would be disproportionately paid by the white community in regards to that same population percentage.. most of my black bretheren in the city get money back in taxes every year, despite the fact that they pay nothing and , in fact, are living off other people's taxes...I don't know if that's the same in the white community..I know a lot of blacks and whites..and welfare is still a shame for most of the whites I know..so either they're on it and don't say or they're not on it..but that's beside the point) The whites I know do not live in public housing at all..period. They may collect some form of welfare, but that money goes to the rent of a landlord owned apartment..do you see my point here?

There is also the matter of years..to put it plainly... if you have five white people enrolled in welfare for five years each...the number may look bigger...but it's not going to cost as much as two black people who've decided to make it a way of life...do you see my point here?

Of course, having your cranium in your rectum for so long obviously means you haven't consulted a good colorectal surgeon to get your deimpaction procedure done.

I did not hear him say "black". He denied he said "black". I could not tell from the video what he said. What you stated in all of your other posts was that anyone who did not hear him say "black" was wrong, to say the least. You heard what you wanted to hear, and no amount of data otherwise will convince you. That makes what you heard either a hallucination, a cognitive choice or an example of a sensory-directed artifact based on your own biases.

Do not go around yelling about the supposed ignorance of others until you have dealt with your own. Ironically, your attempts to insult the people on this board are laughable, considering the subject of your quote is essentially you. You are the type of person who is sincerely ignorant and conscientiously stupid towards those who did not hear what you chose to hear. Deal with that.

You are the troll here, and you are not welcome. On the other hand, you are a garden variety, sto'bought troll who is more than like a retread. Keep it up and you will most likely be the next person kicked off. As for your screen name, let's just say you either chose it with maximum irony considering your characteristics or you really are deluded enough to think you have any common sense. Either way, you lose.

#106 Bonehead,

You may be a fan of something...but common sense ain't it. This website is dedicated to exposing the bigotry in the media.

So, where in the hell do you get off on giving a challenge of any sort?

Here, however, is a challenge for you...and it's right up your alley.

Put the fries in the bag, give me my change, and go clean the restrooms. They are disgusting.

For the MSM: In your pomp and all your glory, you're a poorer man than me.  As you lick the boots of death born out of fear.

Poor afanofLiberalpropaganda. LOL

#109 The lib with the username afanofcommonsense, a name---

obviously picked in a fit of whimsy, comes around only periodically; but like all liberal trolls, gets more pointedly peevish in direct relation to Obama's worsening record.

afanofcommonsense's name should be changed to "alackofcommonsense".
